The club has remained at around 50 members since the 1970s and does not plan to expand. However there is a
natural turnover and we always value the opportunity to welcome new members. If you are interested in learning
more about joining please complete the form below, telling us a little about yourself.
The joining process is not instant and not every expression of interest results in a new membership. The application
process is a way of matching needs with aspirations and of assessing compatibility.

The Rotary Club of Banchory-Ternan
Service above Self
Members
The object of membership is to gather together men and women of different vocations and interests and to give them a
common sense of purpose. This is achieved by encouraging them to carry out some form of service: this may be in the
field of their own business or profession; service in the community in which they live; or service through the international
contacts which Rotary International provides.
By working together for a common aim, members develop friendships and enjoy the fellowship and fun that flows from
teamwork. Approximately 1.3 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.
Rotary International operates the world’s second-largest private charity - the Rotary Foundation.
Like all Rotary clubs worldwide, we have a wide and varied range of professions represented.
Membership is by election and is open to any individual of good character irrespective of creed, race or gender.
There is a membership enquiry form at the bottom of the page.
